Know a High School Volunteer? Don't Miss this Opportunity!

Bank of America is accepting applications for its Student Leader Program, which recognizes exemplary high school juniors and seniors for the volunteer work they do to improve their communities. The deadline for applications is January 12. Bank of America established the program in 2004. Since then, more than 1,400 students have been recognized.

Students chosen will receive a paid, eight-week internship during the summer of 2011 with selected nonprofit organizations so they will have opportunities to develop and apply leadership skills through hands-on work experience, while raising their awareness of community issues their host organization addresses.

They also will attend an all-expense-paid, week-long Student Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. The summit is conducted in partnership with the Close Up Foundation and will introduce students to various aspects of civic, nonprofit and business leadership.
