Remembering 9/11

If you are reading this post, then you don't want to see September 11 come and go as just another day.  YOU are one of millions of Americans who want to mark the day by showing national unity through volunteering and service. 

Last year an estimated 5 million Americans remembered 9/11 by volunteering.  In Kent County alone, well over two thousand people volunteered and an additional 2,500 participated in the Boy Scout salute.  Even more participation in 9/11 volunteering and other activities is anticipated this year. 

If you are not a part of organized efforts led by United Way's Volunteer Center, the Boys Scouts, area AmeriCorps teams, college and university or other school projects, you can still participate. You can take part in this nationwide day of remembrance by volunteering or supporting charitable causes.
