Stuff the Bus Returns for 2011

Heart of West Michigan United Way’s Schools of Hope announces the 3rd year of Stuff the Bus, a program to collect much needed school supplies for elementary schools served by Schools of Hope.

In the past some companies have participated because they are already engaging with Schools of Hope and some, currently engaged or not, have used this activity as a kick-off for their United Way Campaign.  No matter why you participate, you will be helping students and teachers provide supplies that are essential for success in school.  Many families are unable to provide these supplies and schools are again facing decreasing revenues. 

This year we are inviting companies to collect supplies in late August and early September.  Supplies will be collected on September 7 and 8 for sorting and distribution on September 9.  Companies can set their own collection dates as long as we have supplies in hand by September 8.  We are hoping to have a school bus pick up collected supplies at some locations again in 2011 and are awaiting word on our request.
