What Do 50+ Volunteers Really Want?
A 2010 report from The Sloan Center on Aging and Work at Boston College looks at trends volunteerism among older adults and shares what they want in a volunteer opportunity.
The report states that according to a 2008 AARP survey, “four in ten Americans aged 44-79 (41%) indicate they are very or somewhat likely to increase the amount of time they spend volunteering in the next five years.”
So what is it that these new volunteers will want? They are more likely to continue to volunteer with organizations that offer opportunities to contribute managerial or other skills, as well as flexible work schedules. Read more here
