What Nonprofits Can Expect from HandsOn Connect
Over the past two years, the Volunteer Center launched a new web site, started using social media, and became active contributors to The Rapidian. We have used technology to improve the volunteer experience and bring nonprofits and volunteers up-to-date information related to volunteering in various popular formats.
In keeping with that tradition, the Voluinteer Center has deployed HandsOn Connect, a groundbreaking volunteer technology management solution delivered with cloud computing that will dramatically improve the volunteer experience.
HandsOn Connect is designed to help nonprofits with quick completion of tasks such as the creation and management of volunteer opportunities, registration, tracking and verification of volunteer activities. In addition, using a user-friendly interface, organizations can create content, post blog feeds, interact with social networking tools and place logos and photos on a customizable website template.
All of these tools will soon be available. Volunteer Center staff are working hard to check the data transfer from Volunteer Solutions and and refine some of the elements of the system. If your nonprofit organization has already registered with our previous system, you will receive an email containing instructions within the next week. Also, please keep an eye out for training dates on how to maximize your experience with HandsOn Connect.
If you have any questions, please contact us at (616) 459-6281 or thevolunteercenter@hwmuw.org.
We promise that you won’t miss our old system!
We are grateful to our partners, the Grand Rapids Community Foundation, Michigan Community Service Commission, and the Volunteer Centers of Michigan, for their support of our new technology.
